Free Gardening Classes on Tap Throughout July at Armstrong Garden Centers

Armstrong Garden Centers is hosting special events and community gardening classes at its Pasadena location in July, to encourage gardeners of all skill levels to nurture their green thumbs, with a wide range of topics for the spring season.

In Pasadena, Armstrong Garden Center is at 352 E. Glenarm Street. The classes will also be held at the other 30 Armstrong Garden Centers throughout California.

On Saturday, July 6, you can learn about basic care techniques for keeping your plumerias healthy and blooming all summer. Armstrong’s selection of plumeria is unmatched and it is so easy to grow the Hawaiian lei flower. The class begins at 9 a.m. at the Pasadena location.

Growing Succulents is on Saturday, July 20, 9 a.m. Waterwise succulents and cacti are some of the easiest plants to grow. Armstrong’s experts will give you tips to keep them healthy, happy and beautiful. This class will be held at all stores.

On Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, are Lavender Days at Armstrong Garden Centers from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Back by popular demand, Lavender Days welcome you to sample free lavender lemonade while supplies last. On Saturday at 9 .a.m., learn about different lavender varieties, their uses, instructions on pruning and year-round care. Lavenders are perfectly suited for California gardens.

Each class is conducted by a nursery professional who will offer timely gardening advice and hands-on demonstrations.

Armstrong Garden Centers also offers free garden talks from its team of experts for local gardening clubs, homeowners associations and other community groups.
