Two Men and a Truck Making the Move To Pasadena

With franchises across the world, this moving company is a bit of a family success story

Two Men and a Truck is a moving company offering a full line of home and business moving and packing services. It is the country’s first and largest local franchised moving company.

Two Men and a Truck’s Brig Sorber is still amazed at the success of the company. He and his brother were only high school students using a ’66 Ford pickup truck to move scrap and eventually apartments and small homes. That was in 1985.

“When we went off to college, the calls kept coming into our house, and so our mother Mary Ellen Sheets called us and told us that she could hire a couple of guys to keep this thing going while we were gone. We thought that was a great idea,” Brig says. They started the franchise in 1989, and over the years, the company has grown tremendously.

Brig says, “I mean, I still laugh [about] it. Now we’re a business that has 317 locations in the US, 24 in Canada, three in England, and one Dublin, Ireland. We’ve got 2,100 trucks running in the US, and last year we did shy to half a million moves. We moved 453,000 people last year.” Two Men and a Truck also has an impressive 96 percent referral rate from their customers.

Their numbers are off-the-charts, and their success story inspirational and worth telling.

Their secret? They sincerely care.

“I never took a business class. My mom never took a business class, neither did my brother nor my sister,” says Brig of his traditional business experience, despite their large success. “We really just want to help. We always make sure that they’re moved on time.”

The busy period for Two Men and a Truck is from mid-April to September, and the busiest of these months are June, July, and August.

But Two Men and a Truck are always sure to be prepared: “We amp our franchises up and make sure that they’re hiring, they’re training, they’re getting ready and they’re not hindered by not having enough employees.”

But the caring doesn’t stop with their customers—it also applies to their employees. “Our purpose is ‘moving people forward’ and that’s not only about helping our customers moving forward with their lives but also for our employees,” Brig says.

Now that they’re coming to Pasadena, Brig is confident that they will do extremely well here.

If you’re dreading an upcoming move, give Two Men and a Truck a try. They’ll get you where you need to go!
